Event Details

We are excited to invite you to the 2012 17th Annual Via Ball. To celebrate the momentous growth in treatment for people with special needs, we have chosen the Oscars of the 1960s for our theme, the decade that The Disability Rights Movement began.

For over 65 years, Via Services has helped children and adults with disabilities achieve greater independence and lead richer lives. We could think of no better way to celebrate our great accomplishments then with an event in the grand style and glamour of a post-Oscar, movie-studio bash. Via Balls attract Silicon Valley’s most influential and philanthropic citizens with exquisite foods prepared by Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme, wines from local vineyards, live music by Joe Sharino and exciting auction packages.

It will be the event to attend!

For over 65 years, Via Services has been dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities achieve greater independence and lead richer lives. Our story began in 1945 when two women, Frances Anderson and Faye Braley, saw a little boy sitting alone in front of a window every day, isolated from the world because of his cerebral palsy. With permission from his single working mother, the two women carried the boy and his wheelchair down a steep flight of steps so that he could explore new places and spark his intellectual and emotional development. This was the beginning of the organization that would become Via Services, Inc.

Since its founding, Via Services has continued to provide critical services to people with disabilities and special needs. Our Via West campus provides respite, therapeutic recreation, and life skills education for children, teens, and adults with disabilities such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and other developmental disabilities. Our First Step Early Intervention and KidConnections program serves children from birth to eight years old. Our First Step team including occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and early childhood educators help families by providing individualized assessments and recommendations which will help children reach their full potential.
